COOKIE POLICY
Effective date: October 19, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how EM Dance Academy / Bachata Sensual, operated by Queen & Andrew (“EM,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on bachatasensual.ca, the EM Passport member portal, booking tools, and related Services.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your browser or device. Similar technologies include session storage, local storage, cached application data, pixels, logs, and device or browser identifiers. These technologies help us keep you signed in, protect the Services, remember settings, process bookings, and understand technical performance.
2. Cookies we use
Strictly necessary cookies
These technologies are required for the Services to function and cannot be disabled through the website without preventing some features from working. They may include:
- Member session cookie: keeps you signed in to the EM Passport portal. The planned cookie is host-only, HttpOnly, Secure, and SameSite=Lax, and is used to maintain an authenticated session.
- Security and anti-abuse cookies or tokens: support Cloudflare protection, Turnstile, rate limiting, fraud prevention, and safe access to forms and booking flows.
- Checkout and payment technologies: may be set or accessed by Stripe when payment or subscription features are used.
- Load-balancing, availability, and preference technologies: help route requests, protect the platform, or remember a necessary technical choice.
Functional technologies
These technologies support features you request, such as booking flows, member-portal preferences, waitlists, and account functionality. Disabling them may prevent those features from operating correctly.
Performance and analytics technologies
We use Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google LLC) to understand how the website is used — for example which pages and classes are visited, how people find us, and whether booking steps are completed — so we can improve the Services. Google Analytics runs only if you choose "Accept analytics" in the cookie banner; if you choose "No thanks" or make no choice, the Google Analytics script is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set.
- Cookies: `_ga` and `_ga_<ID>` (distinguish visits and sessions), kept for up to 13 months.
- Data: pages viewed, approximate location (city level), device and browser type, referring site, and events such as starting a booking or completing a payment. We do not send your name, email address, phone number or payment details to Google Analytics, and IP addresses are not stored by Google Analytics 4.
- Advertising: Google Analytics is not used for advertising, remarketing or ad personalization (Google's advertising signals are off and ad storage is always denied).
- Retention: event data is kept in Google Analytics for 14 months.
- Your choice: change your decision any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page, or by clearing your browser's storage for this site. You can also use Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Staff pages, embedded booking widgets and our APIs never load Google Analytics. We also use Cloudflare's privacy-friendly performance measurement, which does not use cookies.
Marketing and advertising technologies
We do not intentionally use cookies for third-party behavioral advertising at the time this Policy is published. If this changes, we will update this Policy and obtain any consent required by applicable law before activating non-essential marketing technologies.
3. Local storage and offline features
Some portal features may use local storage, cached application data, or IndexedDB rather than cookies. For example, staff-facing check-in functionality may temporarily cache limited operational data to support connectivity interruptions. Cached data should be cleared or synchronized according to the application’s security controls and is not a replacement for the official record.
4. Third-party technologies
Third parties may set or access their own cookies or similar technologies when their services are used. These may include Cloudflare for security and delivery, Stripe for checkout and billing, and Turnstile for bot protection. Their use is governed by their own privacy notices and technical settings.
We do not control the cookies set by third parties, and their names or lifetimes may change. The production implementation should maintain a current cookie inventory and update this Policy when material changes occur.
5. Your choices
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent login, checkout, booking, security, or other portal features from working.
Where applicable law requires consent for non-essential cookies, we will provide a consent mechanism before placing them and will allow you to change or withdraw your preferences. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal and does not remove strictly necessary technologies.
You may also use browser privacy controls, device settings, or provider-specific opt-out tools. These controls may apply only to the browser or device on which they are used.
6. Do Not Track and similar signals
Browsers may send “Do Not Track” or similar signals. Because there is no consistent industry standard for interpreting every such signal, the Services may not respond to all signals unless required by applicable law. We will continue to review privacy-control requirements as the Services evolve.
7. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when cookies, scripts, vendors, legal requirements, or platform features change. The updated version will be posted with a new effective date. Where required, we will request consent again for material changes to non-essential technologies.
8. Contact
Questions about cookies or privacy may be sent to the owner at queenandandrew@gmail.com, with the subject line “Cookie Question.” For technical questions about the portal or website, contact the website development team at projects@aiwebtech.co.
